So I’ve done it…moved from a free Blogger blog to hosted WordPress 2.2. My old site was a hassle, as I felt like modifying the template was all or nothing.
Pros of WordPress (hosted):
Very customizable
Lots o’ Themes
Vast array of online detail regarding coding
Helpful programmers
Open source, not reliant on any big corporation to maintain
Cons:
Many widgets and […]

1. Make sure you have pages named Archives and about listed in your Pages section. You may have to create them, and if so, see this post.
2. Get the page numbers, found in Manage-Pages.
3. Modify the header.php file to hardcode your links to the Archives and About pages. There are two lines in the […]

As you’ll notice, I’ve added a cool little feature called SnapShots to the blog, so when I link now you can preview the link before you head off into never never land. I got this idea from JC Bradbury’s Sabernomics, one of my favorite blogs. Sabernomics is all about the economics of baseball. […]

A recent message I received after logging into Blogger:

Blogger’s spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What’s a spam blog?) Since you’re an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for […]

I’ve been to many Thrashers games, so I’ve chosen to write about some of the things I saw and thoughts I had related to tonight’s “Thrashers Bloggers Night,” most of which have little to do with the game itself, which for some reason seems boring to blog about at this point.
I think there were about […]

I am seriously surprised how big media is unwilling to cover, let alone support, Josh Wolf. Josh is an independent journalist/videoblogger who has been to prison once, and is required to report in a couple of days again, as he is unwilling to comply with the court’s order to turn over his personal video […]

The one year anniversary of my life as a blogger quietly came and went while I was away on vacation (Delaware) in the place where I started my blog last year.
What I’ve learned in the year about blogs and myself in these interesting 52 weeks:
Most people find my site by searching for Monica Kaufman or […]
