BidFire.com Ripoff Scam

January 6th, 2010 · 19 Comments

I haven’t blogged in almost a year, but just may have found what I think to be the best business model I didn’t think of that will make a ton of money and piss people off and then go away like a lot of internet businesses do. The owners are mysterious, their WHOIS of course […]

Tech Talk

December 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Looking forward to trying out Slacker…even though only with the G1.  For $50, we’ll see how it goes.  I always want to test things out, but today’s emerging tech has such high entry points.  Another thing I want to try in the not too distant future….over the air HD with my TivoHD.  But first I’ll […]

Photoshop Express…reviewed

March 28th, 2008 · No Comments

You really must try Photoshop Express.  2 GB of online photo storage, easy suite of simple editing tools, amazing response times with Flash Player 9…and it’s all free.  You can access your photos from Picasa, Photobucket, and Facebook.  I never wanted to pay for Flickr, never really liked Picasa, and haven’t tried Photobucket.  Facebook…I’m not […]

VoIP venture…complete

August 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

I’ve since canceled Packet8, and sent back their VOIP router (within the 30 day trial’s cancellation period).  While the audio was clearer, and the score a whoppingly high 4.3 at testyourvoip.com, the calls would usually drop unexpectedly after about 10 minutes.  Funny, I never noticed, and that probably says as much about each gender’s phone […]

VoIP update

July 24th, 2007 · No Comments

As I wrote last week, I’ve been trying to figure out a solution to my VoIP needs.  Today I found out Net2Phone is honoring the remaining terms of SunRocket contracts, and you can use the existing hardware.  I set up Packet8 today, and it worked fine.  But I am now using Net2Phone with my old […]

So much for Sunrocket

July 18th, 2007 · 5 Comments

I have been a Sunrocket customer for 15 months now, and am no longer since they hung their customers out to dry, going belly up without notice this past weekend.  The industry is calling the 200,000 of us “Sunrocket Orphans.”  Orphan?  What’s home phone service worth during this era of cell phones…not THAT much to […]

MXplay Review

May 14th, 2007 · No Comments

I recently got wind of an interesting software called MXplay, which offers a lot of functionality. It’s a media player in beta (V. 1.1) with some neat features, but I’ll stick to MediaMonkey for now, the #2 downloaded music player software (iTunes is #1). Someday I’ll get around to trying Songbird. I’m […]

Is it Live?…or is it Memorex?

March 27th, 2007 · No Comments

Favorite cassette brand? A friend and I somehow got on this topic recently, and he was loyal to TDK for the “quality.” (seems funny to think about that now)
I, on the other hand, was partial to the Memorex brand, because nobody else was adding abstract geometrical artwork to their oh-so-cool clear cassettes.
But I’m over […]

A new toy!

March 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

The above picture is a “looking off my front porch” panorama taken by my now meager digital camera, joined with the Giveaway of the Day software selection, Zoner Panorama Maker, and then cropped and resized. You can’t make out much of the detail, and I’m okay with that (if you want to see pro-quality […]
