I think it started with J-Lo (Jennifer Lopez, and then K-Fed (Kevin Federline), T-Mac (Tracy McGrady), D-Wade (Dwyane Wade), and A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez).
I’m just glad it hasn’t made it’s way to Sheryl Crow, who would be “Escrow,” or Celine Dion (”Seedy”).
Others you can think of that just wouldn’t work?

“We either walk out of here free or we die.”

June 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

A quote from Ed Brown, who is holed up in his 110 acre compound in Plainfield, New Hampshire, unwilling to surrender and be charged for tax evasion.  Is it just me, or is that just a little TOO similar to the New Hampshire state motto? (”Live Free or Die”)
If and when he hops his state’s eastern border, perhaps […]

You say it best…when you say nothing at all (#2)

May 30th, 2007 · No Comments

From tonight’s Modern Marvels episode, titled “Pirate Tech.”
“Well the pirates would certainly utilize whatever technology they were able to steal or plunder. In a lot of cases, particularly with these navigational instruments, they would certainly utilize whatever they found to work best for them.”
- David Moore, Nautical Archeologist
Yes, language even a pirate could understand. […]

Tuck tail and run…the 2007 WCHA Final Five

March 19th, 2007 · No Comments

The second annual WCHA Final Five Reunion is in the books, and this year featured better hockey, and as much or more fun than last year. Why?
This year the Gophers finally played like the games meant something, which many fans argued as the difference from former Minnesota tournament flops. They won in incredible […]

NHL to release new "fan-friendly" versions of new Reebok team jerseys

January 26th, 2007 · No Comments

With a lack of many big names in this year’s NHL All Star game (20 players made their first appearance), much of the hype was surrounding the new Rbk EDGE uniforms, debuted during the game, and to be worn next season by all players.
The jerseys are more form-fitting, featuring a new synthetic fabric with […]

Down, and well…not as down now

January 19th, 2007 · 1 Comment

After reading the James Kim official agency timeline and CNET story regarding the search effort’s errors and agency politics, and the CNET article that included excerpts of an interview with his widow Kati, I tried to cheer myself up. The report confirmed many of my misgivings (and several of those of Spencer, James’ […]

Where have all the SNIGLETS gone?

December 13th, 2006 · 1 Comment

Sniglets? No, I am not talking about ’singlets,’ those silly wrestling outfits. SNIGLETS.
Yep, I remember them. And I thought of a new word, just in case they ever catch on again. I recently changed my alarm clock, and life has not been the same since. I can’t sleep for fear I haven’t set it right, […]

Kim Jong-ILLin’

December 9th, 2006 · No Comments

I watched Diane Sawyer’s Primetime special tonight on North Korea. With little past knowledge of the North Korean lifestyle, I was seriously enlightened as to their seclusion and “because we don’t want to become political prisoners that don’t really exist” nationalism.
Enlightened enough to Google “kim jong il” AND “nutcase” together.
Google first warned me that I […]

Rock, Paper, Scissors, & Dynamite?

October 17th, 2006 · No Comments

Looks like the man whose name is associated with the game is throwing a dynamite, huh? Perhaps there always was another option besides rock, paper, and scissors.

That’s French General Comte de Rochambeau at Kings Park in Newport, RI.

Everybody’s talking about me?

September 21st, 2006 · No Comments

Listen to Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard sing my praises last weekend on College Gameday. They seemed to be fighting to get a word in about how good I am.
You too can Convert your WAVs to MP3s in Windows, easily and for free.
